History of Electric Cars

  • Various peoples contributed in the invention of Electric Vehicles. In which 1828, Ányos Jedlik invented an early type of electric motor, and created a small model car powered by his new motor.
  •  In 1835, Professor Sibrandus Stratingh of Netherlands and his assistant Christopher Becker from Germany also created a small-scale electric car, powered by non-rechargeable primary cells.
  • The first practicle electric Human carrying vehicle(Tricycle) was tested by an French inventor Gustave Trouve in 1881, which was made by fitting improved efficiency motor developed  by siemens into a tricycle, so inventing the worlds first electric vehicle.
  • In 1884 English inventor Thomas Parker built the first production electric car in Wolverhampton.
  • So knowing this facts that Electric Vehicles first appeared in around 1900 but because of low top speed, the high costs, and very few batteries available at that time led to an worldwide decline in their use in comparison with the intenal combustion engine vehicles.
  • But later in 21st century the interest in alternative fuel vehicles increased due to pollution and so the improvements in electric vehicle technology also started.
  • Right now companies are making more electric vehicles and customer use is also increasing.
